Bonphul Air Products launches Bonphul Cryogen: India’s first home-grown cryotherapy system

New Delhi-based Bonphul Air Products (www.bonphulapl.com) today announced the commercial launch of Bonphul Cryogen, the company’s first cryotherapy system developed and manufactured in India. The product marks Bonphul’s entry into the fast-growing cryotherapy space and is being positioned as a world-class device designed for both clinical and wellness markets.

Cryotherapy refers to treatments that expose tissue or the body to extremely low temperatures for therapeutic benefit. Techniques range from targeted cryoablation used in medicine to remove abnormal tissue, to localized cold therapy (ice packs, sprays) and whole-body cryochambers used in sports recovery and wellness. Medical cryosurgery and cryoablation are established clinical procedures; whole-body and wellness cryotherapy are increasingly used for recovery, pain management, and cosmetic treatments.

Applications include:

  • Medical / Clinical: Cryoablation and cryosurgery for dermatology, oncology (select lesions), and some minimally invasive procedures.
  • Sports & Recovery: Cryochambers, ice baths and localized cold to reduce inflammation, aid muscle recovery and help athletes return to training.
  • Wellness & Aesthetics: Cryofacials, body sculpting support, and spa/wellness offerings that market temporary improvements in recovery, sleep and skin tone.

Independent market reports agree the cryotherapy market is expanding rapidly, but estimates vary depending on the segments covered (devices, services, whole-body cabins, medical cryoablation, etc.). For example, one widely-cited industry analysis estimated the global cryotherapy market at approximately USD 207.5 million in 2024, with a projected rise toward ~USD 325.3 million by 2030 (CAGR ≈ 7.8%). Other research groups report different scopes and larger totals — some forecasts place multi-billion dollar opportunities when services, device fleets and wellness franchises are included. These divergent figures reflect different market definitions and forecast horizons, but all sources point to steady, multi-percent annual growth driven by expanding clinical adoption and the wellness trend.

As cryotherapy technology and adoption grow, safety and regulatory compliance are critical. Established medical cryo-procedures have well-documented clinical protocols, while whole-body and commercial cryochambers have drawn regulatory attention. Bonphul stresses that product safety, gas handling, alarm systems and operator training are core to the Cryogen design and to every deployment.

Bonphul Cryogen has been developed by Bonphul Air Products to meet Indian clinical and commercial needs while meeting international quality and safety expectations. The system has been engineered with attention to industrial-grade refrigeration, precise temperature control and layered safety systems for gas handling and user protection. Bonphul Air Products is positioning Cryogen not only for domestic hospitals, sports and wellness centres, but also for export to global markets.

“We have built Bonphul Cryogen with a dual vision — to deliver a world-class, highly reliable cryotherapy platform for health and wellness professionals in India, and to scale that capability to international markets,” said Bonphul Air Products COO Narendra Bisht. “Cryotherapy sits at the intersection of clinical innovation and consumer wellness. Our focus is product quality, proven safety systems and strong local service capabilities so customers abroad can trust an Indian-designed system.”

Bonphul Cryogen is now being offered to select clinical and commercial partners with demonstration and pilot programs planned in the coming months. Interested hospitals, sports science centres, wellness chains and distributors are invited to learn more via Bonphul Air Products.
